Your evenings will be free, so why not take in a musical? A production of the Tony-award winning musical, Grey Gardens, will be playing at Le Petit Theatre in the French Quarter. Set in two eras, the musical tells the alternately hilarious and the heartbreaking story of two indomitable women, the delightfully eccentric aunt and the cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Edith Bouvier Beale and her daughter “Little” Edie. It's based on a true story that first broke in the National Enquirer, the downtrodden socialite relatives of Jackie O living in squalor in a decrepit mansion in the Hamptons. Grey Gardens was originally an award-winning documentary film, which makes Grey Gardens-the musical the only Tony Award winner that was based on a documentary. Read more at Wiki.
