Virtual Reality

On Tuesday, 22 May 2007, National Public Radio's Morning Edition featured LCDR Rob McLay of Naval Medical Center San Diego discussing the virtual reality (VR) experimental protocol he uses to treat PTSD. You can hear the broadcast here. The composite photo above shows an actor for the VR program, followed by a Navy Corpsman in San Diego interacting with the VR treatment hardware. The photo below was taken the day after LCDR McLay's radio spot. It chronicles an Army medic in Iraq furiously trying to save the life of a solidier blown up my an IED.
