Transportation From Philadelphia International Airport
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) is located 7.2 miles southwest of Central Philadelphia. The best option when traveling between Center City and Philadelphia International Airport is Regional Rail.
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA, septa.org) operates Regional Rail. The Airport Line runs seven days a week, between 5:00 a.m. and 12 midnight.
To use Regional Rail from the airport to downtown Philadelphia, board the train outside of baggage claim and buy your ticket from the conductor on the train. The fare is $7.00.
If you opt for a taxi, the flat-rate fare to Center City is $28.50. Taxis can accomodate three passengers, and the flat-rate fare is per trip, not per person.
