Please forgive me for being so tardy in getting this out. I came back from Hawaii to San Diego for about 24 hours, long enough to do laundry, then I flew to Michigan for a family wedding.
The Braceland was a success, and Hawaii was absolutely beautiful. With 37 staff and resident psychiatrists, we came close to setting an attendance record. We had five guests for lunch, which showed there was interest in that option, so we will offer lunch for guests next year.
I won't do a play by play as I have in the past, but you can see from the schedule (scroll down) that the program was broad. From child psychiatry to forensics to PTSD/TBI, there was something for everyone.
The Sears Award this year went to CAPT Robert Alonso. CAPT Alonso was not able to attend the Braceland because his oldest son was graduating from college. He sent a message of humble thanks which was read at lunch. As always, I sincerely thank all of you who took the time to vote.
I hope to have some photos up on the blog in the next few days. If you have photos, please send them my way.
The 2012 Braceland Seminar will be held in Philadelphia on Friday 4 May 2012. You can put it on your Outlook calendar now.
